I finally got an interview with Phoebe Blakeley regarding the Student Council article. Sort of. I gave her a paper with a bunch of questions on it and she filled it out very well.
It really is a good idea for almost any interview. The interviewee gets time to fill out the form in detail without the awkward pauses for thinking that needs to be done in a live conversation. Or for shy people who just can't stand walking up to a stranger. And if the person isn't around often, you don't have to track them down with bloodhounds.
I almost resorted to that. I asked for the interview for the last addition and waited two separate times for her without her showing up. But enough of my ranting.
The only problem with this method of interviewing is if you have more questions that you think up during the interview, you have no way of asking until you send out another letter.
Oh well. I have the information I need for my article.
