OK, so most of us hate the cheerleaders. Which is fine and also something to be expected, but did you know how hard those girls work out? It's nothing compared to say track or softball, but the amount of physical activity and also the amount of time they put into staying in shape almost, well , shocked me. I don't know if the cheerleaders deserve respect, but they do deserve some credit for what they do.

I think they deserve both. BTW, we now have a cheerleader in our J-class: Sierra.

I've played softball since as long as I can remember and I did track last year, and both are very demanding. I never really did think that cheerleaders did as much, but I give them credit becuase I will never be able to do even half of the things that they do.

The way I see it, their activities are more technically demanding and less physically demanding, coming from an athlete who knows about the toughest sports on campus. By "technically demanding", I mean that the things they do are difficult and require a lot of skill, technique and effort. They are not, however, activities that require a lot of physical endurance or strength. Again, this is just my opinion.
